About the artist

Carsten Höller was born in Brussels in 1961 to German parents, he now lives and works between Stockholm, Sweden and Biriwa, Ghana. He uses his training as a scientist in his work as an artist, concentrating particularly on the nature of human relationships.Through his installations, he induces states of confusion and doubt but also excitement and delight in the audience. Despite being elusive in many ways, Höller intentionally fosters a sense of perplexity, often resulting in diverse and even contradictory interpretations of his work. Höller’s work is in the permanent collections of the Centre Pompidou di Parigi; Fondazione Prada, Milan; Tate Collection, London; Luma Foundation, Arles.
