Landon Nordeman is a photographer based in New York City. For the past fifteen years, Nordeman has been called upon to photograph the vitality of celebrations around the globe from the Met Gala to the US political conventions revealing the humor in the extraordinary and the mystery in the ordinary. Known for using his flash to isolate moments inside chaos--while flattening glamour and humanity onto the same plane--his empathy for his subjects is always evident. His series "Last Night," was exhibited at the Leica Gallery in NYC (June, 2025) and will be featured in The Photo Triennial at The Museum of The City of New York (November, 2026). He is currently an artist in residence at The Penumbra Foundation in NYC: producing a limited-edition volume of his close-up portraits printed on a Risograph duplicator. His practice is rooted in a deep appreciation for the discovered moment, moving between the collective charge of celebration and the intimacy of a private portrait. Working at the intersection of observation, memory, and representation, his work examines how photographs participate in the construction of identity—shaping not only how we perceive the individual, but also how we come to imagine ourselves within a social and collective experience. When not engaged with commissioned work or his own photographic projects, he teaches at the International Center of Photography.
